Why are my Figma components detached upon import?
If you’ve just imported your wireframes into Figma using the Relume Figma plugin and you have noticed that the sections being imported are no longer Figma components - this is not a bug. This was done intentionally by design.
In order to support the new editing features of the Relume Site Builder, we need to detach the Figma components from their local components. This allows us to apply whatever edits you may have made in the Relume Site Builder to these components.
This also allows for the ability to have the same component with different edits to elements. Maybe you have Layout 1 with a tagline and only a primary CTA. And maybe you have Layout 1 again with no tagline and both primary and secondary CTAs. If you modify the core local component, you’ve now compromised the integrity of the component.
We’re exploring ways that we can keep this functionality but also make it easier to propagate changes across your wireframes - which is one of the things we’ve now lost because of this change.
